Burraga First Nations Languages Platform

Tools: Pencil Paper, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Ionic and Angular frameworks, Directus, Git, Terminal, Android Studio, Apple Xcode.

project Overview

A customisable language learning application that supports the learning and revitalisation of Aboriginal Languages. The app gives Aboriginal Communities ownership of their language through control of the dictionary and game creation process and allows for educators to view students’ language learning progress.

My Input

I played a significant role in the scoping and design of the platform and also contributed in the development process. I was the sole designer in this project and was responsible for everything from creating the design, coming up with body copy and design of the games and game builder template flow to communicate to the developers. In addition, I supported front-end development, managed developer tasks and application updates. I also engaged with stakeholders to guide educational content creation and delivery.

Everyone’s Business

Tools: Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Articulate 360 Suite, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Drupal

Project Overview

The Everyone’s Business project was a project completed for the NSW Public Service Commission and comprised of a Cultural Learning Journey, a calendar of significant dates, a media toolkit and an eLearning course.

My Input

I created designs for the Cultural Journey and upon approval, collaborated with developers proficient in Drupal and JavaScript to build out the pages. For the toolkit, I assembled designs using the provided artwork, carefully following the company’s style guide. I also developed the Everyone’s Business eLearning course using Articulate 360. Throughout the project, I maintained consistent communication with the client via Teams and email, and continued to implement updates to the eLearning courses over time based on their requests.

Cultural Training

Cultural Training for staff that was produced in Articulate 360 and distributed to be used in NSW Government LMS.

Logo Design

Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Pencil/Paper

My logo design process begins by distilling the brief into core visual concepts that align with the organisation’s identity and values. I refine these into descriptive words that capture the intended message and feeling, then begin rough sketching on paper. From there, I develop the strongest ideas and work collaboratively with stakeholders to shape a final design that’s both meaningful and visually impactful. The process then becomes a collaborative exchange – working closely with stakeholders to fine-tune and evolve the design until we reach a final product that truly resonates.

Storylines

The Storylines initiative is a network of websites where Aboriginal Communities can share stories of success, identity and culture. The logo dots symbolise the communities connecting and moving into the future. Its colours reflect the richness of Country, spanning from ocean to outback, while the wave is the storyline that runs through to connect it all. The upward trajectory signifies growth and increasing strength through sharing and connection. I also played a key role in the design of the Storylines website.

Community Resources

This logo was designed for a national not-for-profit community development organisation established in 1987. The brief required the prominent inclusion of the letters ‘CR’, with the flexibility for this element to stand alone from the full name. The colour palette was pre-defined, and the logo needed to integrate seamlessly with existing organisational artwork. Additionally, it was important to incorporate subtle graphic elements while maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance.

GOalhub

The logo was designed for an online platform that supports student personalised learning. It displays a book opening to reveal a growing sapling, symbolising the journey of growth, discovery, and transformation through learning.

Momentum Cloud

This logo is for a software development company, with the wave elements symbolising the cloud, and the circular, organic forms representing momentum and forward movement. The use of colours and rounded typography conveys a sense of professionalism and reflects the innovative, technology-driven nature of the brand.

Illustration

Tools: Pencil/Paper, Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Designer

A selection of illustrations I’ve created over the years, demonstrating a range of techniques and styles.

Muru-D Group ONE

This illustration was initially created to be presented as a parting gift to the first participating group of the Telstra-run start-up incubator program, muru-D. Incidentally, this work briefly appeared on a TV special about the program on cable TV. The illustration was created with pencil hand drawings and inked in Adobe Photoshop.

ESR PROMO CARD

A light-hearted promotional illustration created for a company Christmas card, starting as a pencil sketch and completed in Adobe Illustrator.

PENCIL DRAWING

An original illustration, beginning with lead pencil and finished with water colour pencils.

WEBSITE HEADER

An original illustration created for a website header, beginning as a pencil sketch, then inked using a Wacom tablet and coloured in Affinity Designer.
